Subaru Aircon problem

I have a 2003 WRX the air con system has not worked since I have owned the car (5 months) I looked the other day and the pump is not connected to the wiring harness due to a different pluf fitted to the pump. Can I just connect the wire from the pump to the harness directly removing the two plugs? Thankyou any help is greatly appreciated.

Yes you can, but ensure the connection is well insulated to prevent shorting.

Since the compressor wiring was not attached, reconecting might npt solve the problem as there could be other faults.
