It seems like the crank pulley or something by or on the pulleys is screeching? Kind of sounds like the pins on brake pad wear indicators but I already know I need new brakes and rotors. Seems like the noise is towards the middle or bottom of the engine on the side where the pulleys are. I have a 2003 pontiac grand am GT 3400 3.4Liter V-6 with Ram Air and all caliper/rotor brakes. Could it be the tensioner or possibly the need of a new pulley and bearing/snap ring assembly?

It can be the tensioner/alternator, pulley etc. Disconnect the blet and start the car if it stops you know it's somplace in belt sytem then shut off engine an dspin different things.
