When I give the car some gas past 30% accel. The car goes up to 4000 rpm and does not go any further reguardless of current speel or throttle position. This is the first time this has happened and did not show any clear signs of degration. I've heard of several things of what it could be, but I would to get someone's input before I invest any money into a solution that may or may not fix the issue. Thank you in advance.

First, is you check engine light on? If so, then this is the place you need to start. AutoZone will scan your computer for free.

When you get the codes, write back and I'll help you from there.

As for your lack of power, this could be an ignition/fuel related issue, your exhaust could be clogged (CONVERTER), or there may be a mechanical problem with your engine.

If you aren't getting any power, then there's no reason your check engine light wouldn't come on except if it were a plugged exhaust. (Sometimes that'll produce a light, sometimes it won't)

But have your computer scanned either way. Sometimes the light will go off, but there'll still be stored codes in your computer.

My aztek is doing the same thing. No codes, ive noticed when I have the live data pid running, the ignition advance timing is droping out from 29degrees to 0-6 degrees at the same time the open/close loop states goes into open loop. As soon as open loop enganges the timming drops every time. Ive changed the crank and cam sensor, still the same. Coolant is with in specs, maf freqiency is in spec at idle and increases equily smooth with throttle travel. No knock signals happining when I rev it, all forward O2s are switching up and down fast. The only think out of place is the AWD DISABLED light is on.
