2003 Mercury Sable

It is making a grinding, rattling noise when it starts, then the air kicks on it stops. Yesterday it made the noise the entire drive and the air did not come on at all.

Sounds like your compressor clutch is coming apart.

We just replaced that last year, the compressor clutch should last longer than that right?
