2003 Mercedes Benz SLK230 Car won't start

I have a 4 cyl Turbo Kompressor with only 72,000 miles on it in impeccable condition. I keep it garaged and serviced but never have problems. A few nights ago when I parked it for the night & locked the doors with the remote, I accidentally set off the panic alarm on my key chain remote a short time later. I turned off the chirp with the remote and went to bed. The next morning, my car wouldn't start. I don't know if there is a connection or not but wanted to give all of the facts. There wasn't silence, the car groaned as if the battery didn't have enough juice to start the car. I did not leave the lights or dome lights on over night. Advice please?
