I changed the brake pads on a mercedes benz 2003 s430 (base). No problem changing pads but when I pumped the pedal to re-apply brake pressure the brakes didn't tighten up. Could I have air in the brake line some how? If so, How do I get it out?

The brake line was not removed. The brakes work they just feel really soft. I loosened the screws on one of the calipers but then quickly tightened it when I noticed brake fluid coming out. There was very little that came out. The more I pump the brakes while driving the better they work. When I press the brakes once they are very soft.

Should be O.K. Then new pads will feel softer on pedal. The old ones get glazed and hard giving firm pedal.
