The square holder that holds my gear selector cable in place at the back/side of the engine has snapped off due to someone shifting far to hard now car is stuck in 2nd gear, the gear selector cable is fine but holdercatch is gone. Can I get a replacement for this or does the whole cable have to be replaced? The "holder" (dont know proper name) is similar to the one in this photo (just to show what I mean when I say holder)

I could not get the link to work. If the holder is sold as a seperste part you probably don't need another cable. However if it was abused that roughly the cable may be damaged too. Make sure that it puts the gear arms in the detents properly when shifted. If you question this at all I suggest replacing the cable.
Wow somone really shifted it hard to get that to happen.
