When traveling at approximately 40 mph, I depressed the brake pedal and heard and felt an electronic buzzing coming from brake pedal. Also, even more alarming, the brake pedal depressed almost to the floor board of the van and I didn't know if it would stop the vehicle. This has occurred two other times, while my wife has been driving the van. This issue really concerns me because of he lost of braking power associated with the noise that is heard. Please give us any information that you may have concerning this issue. I worry about my family because we use this car every day.

What you are experiencing is ABS activation. You likely have one of the wheel speed sensors that is not accurate at lower speeds and reads slower than the rest. The ABS computer sees this as that brake locking up so it activates brake bypass for the other wheels. You will need a professional level scan tool to be able to see frame by frame numbers on the wheel speeds to find out which one is bad.
