When car is cold I start car put into drive and car does not move then two seconds catches gear and surges forwards but this only happens when engine is cold, and car runs perfect when engine is warm what could be causing this problem?

You need to get the transmission line pressure tested cold, do this first as this will show if the problem is that the transmission is low on oil pressure during the cold start and drive.
