My '03 Honda Accord V6 has been making a loud screeching/spinning sound from the passenger side of the engine. It sounds loudest near the timing belt. It gets louder when I turn the wheel and the noise only occurs when the car is cold, so when I first start the car for the day. I can drive it in the morning and the sound will be there, then I can park it for hours and hours and when I get in it to drive it again later in the day the noise will be gone.I noticed it only happens when the weather is poor (cold). Please help me?

Symptoms indicstes the drive is probably slipping causing the noise.

Have the drivebelt checked and replaced if necessary.

DRIVE BELT INSPECTION

1. Inspect the belt for cracks and damage. If the belt is cracked or damaged, replace it.

2. Check that the auto-tensioner indicator (A) is within the standard range (B) as shown in Fig. 15. If it is out of the standard range, replace the drive belt.

Cristine - Did you ever figure out what was the problem with your 2003 Accord V6. I have the exact same symptoms with my car.

Thanks,
Aaron
