Which piston is #1, and are even numbered pistons on one side and odd on the other. My vehicle is a 2003 F-150 with a 4.6 liter V-8. I need to know which cylinders to go to for a misfire condition. 1, 4, and 8 are misfiring.

Is #1 cylinder on drivers or passengers side. Does the cylinder sequence go 1, 2, 3, 4 on one side 5, 6, 7, 8, on the other. Or does it go all even on one side all odd on the other. Again it is a 2003 F-150 with 4.6 liter Triton V-8

If you look along the front of the heads, one will sit slightly forward of the other. That will be the #! Bank.
