my head lights dont work all other lights do if you pull back on dimmer switch they light up but when you let go they quit

Sounds like a problem with the dimmer switch?

thats what i thought so i put a new multifunction switch on yesterday and the lights came on so i shut them off and went out last night and when i went to turn them on they didnt work

In the diagram, fuse 3--30 amp should be hot all the time, use voltage tester on the fuse circuit. The red wire with yellow tracer carries voltage from the fuse to the multifunction switch. From the multifunction switch, also a red wire with yellow tracer carries voltage for headlamps. You may be able to get under your dash and find those two wires coming and going from the steering column, check for voltage. Did you check headlamp connector for voltage and ground?
