2003 ford explorer wont start, starter doesnt even click. Had battery and starter tested, both passed.I used a screwdriver to make a connection between the 2 wires on the starter while my wife cranks the ignition, it starts that way. And you can shut it off and start it normally for a while till it cools down, then you have to restart it with the screw driver again. Istill think it is the starter, what do you think?

The 2 big wires on starter? Did you try crossing small wire(from ignition) to big wire from battery on starter? This basically bypassing ignition key start position.

Your solenoid is ON your starter and not somewhere else, right?
