I just had my transmission rebuilt and my check engine light was on, after hooking up a code reader it told me the following trouble codes, p0441(m) and p0456, p1681. Now I looked up the meaning of codes p0441 and p0456 and their location but am unsure how to proceed with correcting the problem. And as far as code p1681 I do not have a clue on what to do. I have little cash so if I can fix these problems I would be overjoyed for your assistance. PLEASE HELP

the 441 may be a loose cap or evap purge problem and should be smoke tested for leaks. same with the 456 code. the 1681 has to have apros type scanner hooked to it to test it and see if it is comunicatiing with the instrument panel.it cold also be a bcm to ip problem as well as a bad ip. try resetting them and see what happens and make sure your gas cap cleicks 3 times on gas fills.

I had a similar problem with my 2003 PT Cruiser after pulling and replacing some fuses while the engine was running. The engine light came on for a day and then went out on its own. When I attempted to get it CA emission tested for registration it failed the OBD test. When I checked with my scanner, I got 2 codes, a P1681 and a P0441. I did a reset and when tested again I got the same two codes while the engine light remained off. After online research, I found instructions to disconnect the battery for a few minutes to reset all of the onboard computers. I did so for about 15 minutes and reconnected; re-scanned and found the codes clear.
