We have been having a problem with the car since.

We have been having a problem with the car since returning from a trip. The car runs fine in the city. When we get on the highway and accelerate to 60, it lurches or misfires as it tries to shift. If you accelerate and go faster, it kicks into a hgher gear and runs fine. It does not do this all the time.

We have had the car to 2 shops and a transmission place. The car is not throwing any codes. We put in new spark plugs, a new fuel filter and a new air filter.

We are taking another trip soon and do not feel comfortable with the car acting like this.

Thanks for your help.

I don't honestly know. I do know that it was replaced about 18 months ago. Would this show up on diagnostics?

Yes, you can check the fuel pump pressure. What to do is refer to our homepage under the DIY section and you will find both directions and a video that shows you how to do it. You will need a fuel pressure gauge, but most parts stores will lend you one. It is easy to do. Just follow the directions.

So does that mean that the pump is bad?

It could be a bad pump or a bad connection.
