My S-10 pickup has started vibrating when gas is applied when driven. The engine runs smoothly when the vehicle is stopped. When driving I can shift into Neutral and the vibration stops. It is worst between 1,200 RPMs and 2,200 RPMs. Serpentine belt does not appear to be worn. I've only had it for 15,000 miles so I don't know when the plugs were replaced but it does run smoothly when stopped so I'm thinking it is not the plugs.

Don't assume anything like that. Ignition systems are far more stressed under a load. You probably should start off by having the stored codes read to see if they give you a starting point.

A scan shows nothing. Will try again with a better scanner at a shop. Thanks for keeping me looking at the electrical system rather than just dismissing it.

Turns out it was a bad universal joint in the rear end. Thanks for your suggestion nevertheless.

That's where being there to experience the vibration makes all the difference in the world. It would have been recognized immediately with a test drive.

Glad you got it resolved though.
