2003 Chevrolet Impala Extreemly Fast Idle On Off Park Drive Unplugged Tps Plug

extreemly fast idle on and off. In park or drive. unplugged the tps plug and it returned to normal idle. Reconnected tps plug and idle is still normal. This happens every few months for two or three days then stops. Finally found this cure by disconnecting tps wire. Can you help?

Try cleaning out the idle air control valve on the throttle body/plate and see what happens-
