I cant get my car to turn over its making a drill sound?

I cant get my car to turn over its making a drill sound I herd u can tap the starter with a hammer and it can turn over but do I need to tap it while some1 tries to start it or will tapping it be sifficient? How can I get my car to start?

More than likely this is due to a failed starter or the teeth on the starter gear have broken.

So, let's start with this info in this guide and go from there:

I suspect we are going to have to replace the starter so here is a guide that will help with this:

Below you will find the repair instructions from the manual that will help with this.
