Car is a 2.2 4 cyclinder will start and runs good until you turn on ac, heat, lights or defrost. It will lose power or die completely. Do not know what to check, please help.

Have the charging system professionally load-tested. The typical generator is designed to develop up to 90 amps. If all you can get is exactly one third of that, and "ripple" is very high, it has a defective internal diode. To prevent a lot of repeat failures, replace the battery at the same time unless it is less than about two years old.
