You could have a bad steering wheel position sensor. Quite common.

This message will come on when the ABS system (anti lock brake) system detects a fault with the stability system in the vehicle usually anywhere from suspension faults or even traction control or abs braking faults.

What has to be done from here is to have the fault codes checked in the ABS computer by a shop or dealer with a scan tool that can communicate with this computer to see what codes have set for this problem. Once the codes have been read out then it can be diagnosed as to what component is at fault and what needs done to correct the fault.
