Roaring noise

Sounds like a loud muffler had exchaust system looked at every thing ok, It is comming from the rear around where the muffler is. It does it under a load, like going up hill. It sounds just like a loud muffler. Only under a load. When I start off from a stop sign, under a load, It is very load need ear plugs.

Slowly noticeable over a 6 month pereid got louder & louder.

It almost sounds like exhaust is opening gap when under load. The engine causes a pull on system when you put it in gear and go. Have you tried holding brake and giving some gas to see if it does it then?

I held the brake and gave it some gas and yes it made that noise. Could it something inside the muffler? When the car is running in park and you rev it up it is not load but when you let off of it sounds like a little rumble or soft pops.

Something rotted out in muffler allowing noise strate through instead of the twists and silencers. Certainly seems like a possibility in this case.
