745li radio cuts in and out

The radio cuts in and out, lights for radio is on and doesn't flicker. I can change channels but it still cuts in and out. The navigation system may have a problem as well. Just doesn't want to work consistently but I don't really use it.I wonder if this car is going to be giving me too many problems. How expensive would this repair be?

This sounds like you have a cold solder joint inside the radio these can be difficult to find. I would try to get a used unit or replaced it with an aftermarket unit.

Here are diagrams to help you remove the radio for repair or replacement.
