IF you are not getting washer front or rear, it could be the pump. However, it could be an electrical issue too. What I suggest is disconnect the pump and have a helper push the button for the washer to see if power is getting to the pump. If it is, the pump is bad. If there is no power to the pump, then you need to check things like fuses, wiring.
I am surprised the shop doesn't know to do that and wants to just replaced the pump without being sure. It is a really simple procedure that can save you the money for a pump if it isn't bad.
