vw beetle air bag light

I have a 2002 beetle airbag light is on,I heard its a contact in steering wheel. Can I fix it,does it take special tools,how difficult is it ?

You need a wheel puller. It sounds like the clock spring is bad. However, before replacing that and being wrong, have the computer scanned to determine what has set the light.
