2002 Subaru Outback On Starting Cold Day There Gasoline Smell Till Engine Warms

On starting on a cold day there is a gasoline smell till the engine warms up. It is noticeable outside the the car on the passenger side as well as interior.
When the engine warms up it disappears.
My mechanic says a hose or a fuel injector. No obvious hose leaks
