Have a bad BCM on my car. Has all the typical problems that you get, not starting in warm weather, flickering lights, dash gauges not working. Bought a new one and took it top dealer to get it programmed. They said the programming failed because the cars security system kept rejecting the new BCM, it could get by the pass-lock thing.
Is there any way to get around it? Its a GM dealer, but they don't know Saturns super well, and they said they have no idea what to do. Please help. The BCM is getting so bad that I cant even run heat in my car this winter, or it wont start again if I stop and get gas or anything.
thanks

I have replaced tons of those bcms on those cars when I worked at the saturn dealer and have no clue what there talking about. So are you bring them the car also when your having them replace the bcm?So did the bcm program and allow the mileage to be put in etc and the car just wouldn't start because the security light was on?

They said when they were doing the relearn process to program the new BCM that it could not complete the process because the security system was not accepting the new BCM, or something like that. The light kept coming on, and the BCM was unable to finish programming. The old one still works as it usually does, namely only when its not warm. But I am doomed if they cannot program new one. Any thoughts?

The bcm is the computer for the security system so thats crazy what there saying. Ask them if there removing the old bcm and installing the new one before starting the replacement procedure on the service stall?I always replace the bcm before even hooking the service stall up to the car. The service stall is the computer the dealer uses to program and replace computers in the and use it for other things. If you leave the old bcm in and start the replacement process you can run into problems like corrupting the new one and other issues maybe like what there running into.
