Hi, I own a Nissan X-Trail from 2002, 2.0 automatic. When in drive mode, I get about 900 rpms, when in neutral it goes up to 1100. Is this normal? Just checked the fuel consumption and it is about 13/100 l/km.

The idling speed is too hgh at 1000 rpm if engine is warmed up.

It is normal for engine rpm to drop slightly when gears are engaged.

There are many possibilities such as a stuck IAC, vacuum leakages, throttle body adjusted out of spec or lack of coolant.
