My petrol v6 has started to stall below1000rpm
Was doing 4wd in sand dunes on the weekend
Was in 4LLC 2nd gear going great
Stopped for lunch
Restarted again did about another 10 k's and it stalled in 1st gear as we slowed down kept doing this
Had to use brake with left foot to keep revs up to get home
Didn't stall on the highway
Can you help
All wiring looks intact

The idle control system seems to be the cause of the problem. Check the air cleaner for clogging due to excessive fine sand or dust getting to it.

No, the cable do not control the idling speed.
Check for vacuum leaks.
Try cleaning the IAC and throttle body.
Check for trouble codes.
