The transmission in my GDI lancer was making a humming noise as if a wheel bearing was shelling for the past six months but continued to work fine. Now it is only on 40 MPH and making a louder nosi. What can be the cause and how to rectify it?

If the noise is coming from the transmission your going to have take it apart and find out what has falied. What gear is the transmission in when you hear the noise?

I have that same problem when the car is in "D" gear and I realize that the bearing has gone.

I cant get it as a spare part nor can I get a used transmission

( I am in trinidad, west indies)
