Hello I have a 2002 Lincoln LS V8 non sport and it wont pass 120 mph at 120 the revs just drop all the way down. Is the car limited or is the car having a problem?
The revs drop from 5-6000 to 1-2000 at 120 mph only done it twice so not sure probably don't want to remove limiter if has one unless it is easy cheap and doesn't hurt car. Thanks.

It is programmed into the pcm and is not available to alter. Needless to say, that speed is way beyond what you need.

You need a shop to look at the code for the failure and determine the failure and give you a bid.

There is a code. A free code pull will not pick it up. A shop with a real scan tool will be able to acess the system

I took it to a tire place that said they could try and look. Should I take it to a Lincoln dealership?

Try is not an answer. Do not go there. If you know of no one else, yes, take to the dealer.
