2002 Lexus RX300. Stop light/Brake Light not working. The regular back light does work. Just when i'm stepping on the Brake pedal the brake light does not work. I did check the fuse they are ok. Checked the light bulbs they r ok as well. Went ahead and changed brake pedal sensor still not working. Took it to the dealer they think it's the INTEGRATED BRAKE SWITCH CONTROLLER. Wanted to charge $800+. Please advise.

It is possible to be what they suggested to be but if so their price is bit high and I would have another maybe independent shop take a look at it

This is a basic test if you like to try and figure it out your self

brake light switch have two wires on it
GRN/BLK supply volts in to the switch and it should have battery positive with key on or engine running if not check fuses and or the wire between the fuse and the switch

second wire on the switch is GRN/WHT
when step on brake should have battery volts if not switch bad or out of adjustment
if so locate light failure sensor in left side of luggage compartment and check pin #7 GRN/WHT wire for battery power with brake depressed
if no power check wire in between the switch and sensor
if have power
check pin #1 GRN/YEL for power if have power 3rd brake light should be coming on if not check wiring harness and ground circuit
