2002 Kia Sportage rough idle and hard start

Had car checked out. Report said, low compression.80, 60, 30 and 30. Said, it should be 188. Said, looks like head had been off recently. "Probably ran hot and sprunk the rings".
It starts kinda good until driven for about 30 minutes then doesn't want to start. Also, it idles rough until driven for about 45 minutes then its not as bad. It has excellent power when driving. They said, it is not equipped with an egr and the idle control is good.
I paid them 180.00 to tell me I need a motor. Now I am broke and facing how to get the money to get a new engine.
What do you think.

It may not have shrunk the rigns but believe what they said it needs another engine, you are lucky it even runs with that compression

They said, it sprung the rings. But, it does not smoke.

You can hardly "sprung" the rings in an engine. With that low of compression like I said you are lucky the car runs at all. If you really want to see the damage in the engine pull the head off. Besides we only give answers to the INFORMATION YOU GIVE US. Which in most cases like yours is next to nothing. Thanks for using 2car pros.
