Several tests were done on the vehicle. The cluster was found to be working fine.
All cluster cables were tested and found to be sound and fine.

I removed the negative battery cable overnight and the following morning, the cluster was on for a while but went on/off again.
Could it be the PCM?

Thank You

No check engine light does not appear.

I checked with the dealer and wants me to book in for the car, and they charges $60 [500 Rands] per hour. The car will spend a day there [almost 8 hours] and I'll have to fork out $480, which I'll have in the US for a new PCM. They insist that I bring the car, which I will not do. Please help in any way possible

They were all checked. All cables checked, found to be working well. Connections were redone perfectly. Cables were traced up to the PCM. The code retrieved was P1687 - No cluster communication bus.

OK - I have no choice but to take it through.
I thought my basic auto electrical knowledge will be handy. I'll make a booking soon.
Thanks

Thanks.
I checked the other post. You right, the battery was changed a few months ago - maybe then the PCM was shocked.
I'll have it tested and have it replaced when I get some $$$
