The engine coolant temperature sensor on the Jeep Cherokee 2.7 CRD (Common Rail Diesel) is typically located on or near the engine's thermostat housing. The thermostat housing is usually situated on the engine block or the cylinder head and is connected to the upper radiator hose.

To locate the coolant temperature sensor, follow the upper radiator hose from the radiator to where it connects to the engine. The point where the hose connects to the engine is likely the thermostat housing, and the coolant temperature sensor should be mounted on or near it.

Thanks for the swift response! No I actually did mean the 2.7 diesel, I post this question from South Africa, we were fortunate enough to have the grand cherokee fitted with the mercedes 5cyl 2.7 CRD drivetrain and motor (M-class Mercedes)export models only-austrian, it is my understanding that you do not get this specific model in america.

OH OK, sorry, I won't have any info on that engine as it's not available in the US.
