2002 Jaguar X-Type Break fluid light staying on

The break fluid light staying on; mechanic said The break fluid sensor was faulty and the cap has a crack.I had the break fluid resevior & cap replaced and the light has stayed on can you advise please?

The brake light will stay on for a couple of reasons.

1. Low fluid level
2. Hydraulic failure on 1 side of the master cylinder
3. Emergency brake switch not opening up.

Thank you Roy I had the car completely checked out for a new Wof and had the break fluid replaced when they replaced the resevior.I will ask if they can check out your suggestion.
