2002 Holden Statesman stuuters when accelerating

Car runs fine and idles perfectly but from standing start under heavy acceleration it coughs and stutters but when I back off and accelerate gently it is fine I can accelerate hard from about 20kmh no problem, would appreciate any advice to my problem

Have you computer scanned for codes (misfire codes, especially).
Could be various ignition system problem of fuel related problems. However if you vehicle displays a code it will put us in the right area for diagnosis.
Let me know what codes you find and we can start our diagnoses there.
