I have a 2002 ford windstar se van with a 3.8 v6. Water seeps into the cylinders and oil. It runs rough at idle. Could there be a chance that the plastic upper intake manifold be defective like the gm 3.8 v6? This vehicle has 176,283 miles on it. Water seeps into cylinders and/or oil. Runs rough. Slight improvement with idle after oil and filter replacement.

If the coolant level in the reservoir is going down, suspect a leaking head gasket.

That engine had a lot of head gasket problems. Have a cylinder leak down test done. It will confirm the problem. There were a lot of problems with the gaskets.
