I Have recently replaced the thermostat and was finding that the bottom rad hose was cold so once again had the thermostat replaced but this has not cured the problem and the same error code has come up. This was all after have the cylinder head gasket replaced and a new waterpump fitted

If the repairs were recent, take it back to the shop, tell them they didn't fix it.

What error code are you talking about?

I'd have to check for coolant flow to and from the radiator. Just for testing, if you remove the thermostat, hook everything back-up, flow to the radiator should be instant. Maybe the radiator is clogged?

My bad, I'm half blind I guess, I see the error code, now. Our US database didn't list a mondeo. Not sure I can help with code?

If the thermostat has an electronic component, I'm not sure removing the thermostat would be applicable. If your UK or European vehicle, I have no info on that.
