2002 Ford Focus vehicle problem

I have a 2002 ford focus zx5 2.0l DOHC 4 cylinder 5 speed manual transmission. As I decelerate to a stoplight, the car just shut off on me and I had to quickly restart. I come to the next stoplight and it acted like it wanted to shut off on me again, but didn't quite do so. What does this mean?

It means it's time to see a mechanic. There's dozens of possibilities from a fuel supply problem, engine misfire, idle air control, EGR system, or a sensor problem. Your mechanic will start by reading any diagnostic fault codes. Those will indicate any circuits or systems that need further diagnosis.
