Loss of power and speedometer drops.

2002 dodge dakota 2wd 2.5L manual 5-speed. Loses power and the speedometer drops. There is no fluctuation in Rpm just the speedometer. The truck jerks for a moment then everything returns to normal. This was only happening at highway speeds 60+ but is now happening at around 30mph. Is this a clutch problem?

Doesnt sound like a clutch at all. Any codes in the computer?Thats where I would start.

There are no codes on the cumputer. When this happens the lights on the dash flash but dont stay on. It almost feels like the truck stalls but the rpms dont drop.

Have you had the battery tested and alternator?Made sure the battery cables are clean and tight?
