I recently replaced the engine in my 2002 Chevy Trailblazer. The vehicle will now start and sounds smooth but will not go into gear. When I put the vehicle in Drive or Neutral you can hear it sound like it is engaging but it doesnt. I checked the PNP and tried resetting the PCM. I am at a loss to figure out what could have happened. Before replacing the engine the vehicle changed gears fine.

assuming you checked the fluid level, if it is 4 wheel drive, check to be sure it is not in neutral, the transfer case that is.

otherwise you have internal failure.
