I have a 4WD trialblazer that makes a scraping sound from the front end.

General service has been done [shocks, struts, brakes, tires]recently. Noises started about 6 months ago with a farting sound [changed struts&shocks]no help. This noise went away now a new one, grinding. Thought it was sealed hub [had one go bad on my 1500]not this. Now a new noise scraping. No apparent play in axle shafts. Put in 4 low walked next to to maybe determine noise location, sounds like could be coming from front diff. Rengaged 2 high
scraping went away.I know something is going out any ideas?

Thanks, Mike

From your description, either the transfer case has an issue or the drive shaft may be rubbing up against something. Take a good look underneath and make sure nothing is hitting anything that rotates.

A common issue is the backing plates rubbing on the rotors. Easy to push away.
