2002 Chevrolet Suburban radiator

How do I drain the radiator fluid in my 2002 Chevrolet suburban 4x4 5.3 l is there a drain valve on the radiator I want toi drain out about 1 gallon and then refill it is that ok to do?

There should be a drain at the bottom of the radiator (driver's side). It is fine to do, but remember, you are mixing new coolant with the old. It won't help much. You should drain the system and refill it with a 50/50 mixture of coolant and water.

MAKE SURE TO USE THE CORRECT TYPE OF COOLANT. CHECK TO SEE IF THE CAR REQUIRES DEXCOOL. IF IT DOES, ONLY USE THAT TYPE.
