Steering column/ gear shift problem

Having very hard time gettin gears to switch for park to anything else. Keeps jamming, I have to use flat head to move a bar/pin like piece of metal back to get it to down shift. What should I do?

Sounds like your shift interlock isn't working properly. It's usually the brake switch that's the problem. Not getting juice to shifter lockout soleniod. You can test it to see if it's the problem.
