2001 Volkswagen Passat Electrical

Electrical issues with windows and locks, sometimes windows wont go down and locks will stay unlocked and not want to lock. Sometimes when car is first started dash beeps and car stays in first until restarted. CEL is on (not sure what code), brand new battery but the car will sometimes drain it if it sits a day or two without being started. Not exactly sure why

Check for water under the carpet. The "Comfort Control Module" is located
under the driver carpet. Water collects and causes wiring problems with
the Comfort Control System.

The Cel may or may not be related. Won't know till you pull the code(s).
