The ABS light goes on intermentantly on a 2001 VW bug. Does this mean the brake fluid is low, or does it indicate something else?

The Germans usually have the ABS light come on when there is a fault. When it is intermittant it might be low fluid or perhaps something more serious, have the brake system inspected straightaway.
