Odd noise idling, worse on acceleration. Smell of exhaust fumes inside when not moving.

This started about a week ago, with an odd noise that noticeable when idling the car, but gets much louder with acceleration. The more I accelerate the louder it gets. There is also a faint smell of exhaust fumes in the passenger compartment when the car is still.

There are no warning lights on, and the oil level is at full.

DO YOU THINK IT COULD BE AN EXHAUST LEAK OR A HEAD GASKET LEAK?

SOMETIMES EITHER ONE OF THESE ISSUES COULD MAKE A "SPITTING" SOUND WHILE THE ENGINE RUNS

A EXHAUST LEAK CAN BE ANYWHERE FROM THE ENGINE ALL THE WAY BACK TO THE END OF THE EXHAUST

WATCH OUT FOR THOSE PESKY MOVING ENGINE PARTS
