Hi I have a 2001 sl2 Saturn. Recently it has been knocking like it needs an oil change but it just had one. It is also having trouble shifting gears. Its an automatic and when I take off it's slow shifting. It has also stalled twice when coming to a stop. This all just started please help me if you know any ideas. Than you

The knocking concerns me. Where is it coming from? Top or low end. Knocking is never good as it is a sign of engine issues.

Is the check engine light on?

When did you last have the trans oil/filter changed?

Just to add to this one do you have a delay or delay bang into reverse?Also is the knocking actually a clicking because the way your descriping it like it needs a oil change like its low on oil and lifters are clicking?There is a bulletin on those to retorque the lifters for them clicking.
