How do I get my 2001 pontiac grand prix check engine light to come on ar register to the Emission testing? They told us used car lots unplug the car system to trick people in thinking nothing is wrong with the car because no lights are on. What do we need to plug back up so it will register to the Emission Machine?

Kinda depends on what they did. The Check Engine light in every car turns on for about four to six seconds as a bulb test every time you turn on the ignition switch. If that is working, the bulb circuit is okay. You might check if the bulb was removed from the instrument cluster if you never see it turn on.
