When my car reaches the speed of 20mph the car jumps forward but not the speed what could be the problem

When you get to that speed the car makes your neck fly back like your going 70 mph like a big push of gas went threw

So the transmission is shifting hard?Have you checked for codes yet?

Yes its a bad thing if you let your transmission shift that hard it destroys the transmissions on those cars. Which engine do you have?

2.2 and I just bought it yesterday I called the guy and he said he cant get me in till maybe friday and I need to drive that till friday for work and my kids stuff do you think it would be ok till then

I have seen a lot of bad pressure control solenoids so let me know what they find.I cant comment of if it will be ok because I dont know it all depends on how long its been shifting like that.I would drive it really easy though.
